Mother's day is coming

Hey Everyone!
What a great blessing it is to email you guys again this week! By the time P-Day comes around E-Mailing is always my favorite thing to do, regardless of the activity or anything else we have planned. I'm so grateful for your support and love. It really does mean so much to me. You're right though, the time isn't even flying by anymore...I can't think of a word that would describe how fast it's going. This past move was honestly the quickest one of my entire Mission. I could've sworn I just picked up Elder Poon the other day, but it was 9 WEEKS AGO! This next move, he and I are staying together, and we're actually getting different Missionaries living in our apartment with us. Before it was Sham Shui Po but now we're getting the Mandarins. There's like 10 Mandarin Companionships in the Mission, and one of them is gonna now be living with us. I'll be sure to work on my Mandarin while they're living with us! I also got an interesting call last night from President Chan...He called me as a District Leader! That means I'm now covering the Mandarins that are living with us Sham Shui Po, Cheung Sha Wan, the Sisters in the T.S.T. Ward with us, and my own companionship. I think it's the biggest District in the Mission! I'm not sure about other Missions, but 10 people in a single District is HUGE! To give you an idea, in my first area, it was just me, Elder Harper, Elder Loong, and Elder Merrill...4 people. (That's average) So, pretty much my responsibilities are to watch over the Missionaries in those areas, make it so we all work together as 1 District in unity, receive their numbers for the week each Sunday night, and plan and lead District Meetings every Monday afternoon. It should definitely be a fun ride! I'm excited because Elder Feigleson is also in the District, so that'll bring back some great memories! I hope and pray the Spirit of the Lord will continue to abide with me as I start on this new leadership position. Elder Poon and I are still together, and I love it! More chances to improve, learn, grow, and become one with the people! I'm so stoked! I did in fact, just barely the other day receive the package from Grandma Carey and loved what was inside! I've shared about, well all of it with my apartment and they love it so much! I didn't really get too much but that's totally fine with me. I'd rather give it to those who don't receive very much than just keep it all to myself. Thank you so much Grandma Carey! I know I speak on behalf of all the Elders I live with too when I say I'm so grateful for you and your support for me serving the Lord. It means so much. Truly, I can never find words to express my gratitude for you guys! It just never works! I, or rather everyone in my apartment, thoroughly enjoyed all the things in the package you guys sent too, Mom and Dad! They couldn't keep their hands off the cookies! Oh, don't worry, they were still fresh all right! Everything else is so good and is much much appreciated. Thank you so much! I did hear about Osama Bin Laden being found and killed. It's all over the place here in Hong Kong! It's been on the front cover of every magazine every day since it happened. I don't really know too much about it, but I just know that they found and killed him. It's nice to see that even people in Hong Kong are supporting American Troops in the War and giving lots of support. Well I mean, how can you not like America? Let's be real here. That's so cool to hear about how the work is going in the Ward back home! Talk about success! Tell those Elders congratulations for me and to keep up the good work! Moves Day is today, but Elder Poon and I are staying together, thankfully! I'm so happy to still be with him! It's such a blessing to have him as a companion! His example is HUGE to me and I love how humble and patient he is. There really is just TOO MUCH to learn on a Mission! They haven't come out with an actual rule that says we can stop wearing coats, but whenever it's above 25 C, we don't have to wear them. Lately, every single day it's been above 25, so I think that's the deciding factor that says suit coats are done with until October time. You guys WOULD have to speak in Sacrament Meeting on Mother's Day! Oh man, that's funny. I know you guys will do an excellent job though, so you have nothing to worry about, honestly, just keep it together Mom and you'll be fine. I wish you guys luck, and I'll be praying for you. The call time sounds great! I'll be sure to call at that time and hope you guys will answer...just kidding. There's no hope there. It's a for sure thing. I had a blast at the range! Dad, you better get ready for when I get back! I'm so excited to start playing again! Oh man, it felt so good to just go and swing a club...even though they were WAY too small for me, since it's still in Hong Kong that we played and they're made for small Chinese people. It was still way fun though! We haven't had an opportunity to follow up with him because he's just been way way busy with test lately. I tell you, Chinese people sure take school and testing seriously here. I've never seen a more diligent people when it comes to that. I forgot to mention in last week's E-Mail that the Sunday before last, a kid we taught was Baptized. He's 8 years-old, but man was it fun teaching him! Object lessons and teaching simply is the best! His family wanted him to be taught by the Missionaries because they wanted him to know why he was getting baptized. They're a semi-active family, but still way cool and nice to Missionaries. I took pictures, so you'll be able to see it and stuff. He is such a funny kid. Every time he sees me now in Church, he always wants to come sit on my lap and play games with me, but unfortunately that's not really ok for Missionaries to do. It's all good though. Teaching him was some of the most fun lessons I think I've had. Thank you guys! I love you! You're the best! The Church is TRUE! I'm so blessed to have this opportunity of a lifetime to serve the Lord for two years. Never a regret! Until next week (or a couple days for the fam)...Do what you do!
Love Always-
Elder Carey
