Boy, a lot has sure happened this week here on the home front of where I'm at! It sounds like you guys are keeping busy though too, so that's way good! Keep it up! A good idiom in Chinese is to "add oil!" You can ask the Thongs in the ward how to say it. Ha! It's a good one. Well I can guess I can start with you guys first...I'm not kidding you guys really need to send some of that snow this way. It's ALREADY starting to warm right up real quick...that's Hong Kong for ya! Oh man, it's so humid here. You'll know what I'm talking about when you guys come. I will definitely continue to keep Marilyn in my prayers and add her name in the Temple as well. Please send her my best and tell her not to worry, but to turn to Isaih 41:10, and 2 Nephi 4:34-35 (my favorite scripture in the Book of Mormon), and she will find all the comfort one needs to make it through her trials. There has been a quote that I've kept close to my heart as a Missionary...I don't remember who it's by, but it goes something like this..."I never said it would be easy, just worth it." (Speaking in terms of life on this earth.) I'm so proud of you guys, Mom and Dad, for keeping busy with your selfless service in your callings. After all, that is what's most important in this life. Magnifying our callings is so very vital and will truly bring us some of the greatest happiness we can ever feel. I'm so proud of you guys and your dedicated efforts to continue in the help of building the Kingdom, assisting the Father in His work. Because after all, it is HIS WORK! That's why I am so grateful and so very blessed to be doing what I'm doing right now. I love it. I can't think of any other words to describe it. It's the perfect way to draw nearer unto Him, thus having Him draw nearer unto us. By the way, what is the name of the Elder from Springville? Elder Lee is from there and wants to know. Thanks! Oh man Steph! How crazy is that?! You're on your way to BIG success! WIth passing these tests, I know you will be blessed and Heavenly Father knows YOU personally. Believe it or not, He knows your inner feelings, those that matter most, and He wants you to be the happiest you can. I know that He's mindful of you in all you do. Don't ever doubt that for a second. That is only Satan trying to bring you down, and make you think you can't pass your tests or won't ever be successful and can only find happiness in not following the Savior. Heavenly Father's plan is exactly opposite from that. I know you already know these things, but I just want to let you know that He truly does care for you and loves you. He WILL help you pass these tests, no matter how hard or confusing. Just trust in Him, try your best, and leave the rest up to Him. I love ya Sis! Oh, and by the way it looks like it will be February 23, 2012 that I will finish. I don't think I can meet up with you, Mom and Dad, until the 24 though, cuz we have like some ending things we have to do as Missionaries that are going home on that day. I'm not totally sure. But it will be that week for sure. So, you can make plans, if you'd still like, according to that. I just thought I should probably let you know. That experience you shared is so incredible, Mom! I know that prayer is REAL! It truly truly is! There is no better way we can communicate with our Creator, than through sincere prayer. I have so many wonderful experiences that occur from the power of prayer, just like you! It is possible for ALL OF US to experience those. We just have to make the first step by trusting in Him. Ok, now I'm gonna tell you about my week...so just a quick, cool experience Elder Lee and I had the other day...we were just walking along the street, not really paying attention to anything, and this middle-aged WHITE guy and his wife walked right up to us, told us to buy ourselves some lunch, and handed us 80 dollars Hong Kong! I kept saying, No! No! No!, and then the wife turn to me and was like, "Enjoy your Missions, Elders." Throughout the entire rest of the day, Elder Lee and I were in total and complete shock. THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN HERE! IT JUST DOESN'T! Maybe in America, or other foreign Missions, where there's more members, but NOT HERE! 80 dollars Hong Kong is quite a bit of money for food too, so we were very very blessed that day. I also pictured those people as being you guys...just telling me to "add oil" and keep going...we both teared up right after that experience OF COURSE! We also have a Baptism this Sunday! His name is A-Hong. He is 30, I think. His fiance is a member and her Dad is going to Baptize him! Her parents said they would really like it if she married someone in the Church, so they could be sealed for time and eternity in the Temple as a WHOLE FAMILY. She agreed, and so did he. He started taking the lessons, and had the same concerns a normal investigator would have. He has trouble coming to Church sometimes because of his work, but he's trying to come every week now. We made it very clear to him that he needs to be joining the Church for the right reasons, not just because he wants to marry his fiance. He thoroughly understands it and now has an extremely powerful Testimony of Eternal Families and the Plan of Salvation. The Gospel is the only way families can live with Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and each other for time and all eternity. There is no other way to make this possible, but through coming unto Christ. Elder Lee and I are so happy and are so humbled he has this amazing opportunity to make that sacred covenant with our Father in Heaven through the waters of Baptism. So, yesterday, as a District, we went and did some service at the place called Crossroads. It was sweet because they assigned us to go to this big dump and break these cabinets, shelves, closets, tables, desks, and other random things, so they could use those broken pieces to make what are called "slums" for people who are homeless to live in. It was such a humbling experience and we had a blast doing it! Don't worry, I took some pictures too. We also got to experience a few other cool things, but I don't really have time to tell it right now. I'll be sure to later down the road though for sure, maybe even in person. It'd probably be better that way. I love serving. I love serving others. I love serving God. It's interesting how all of those are the same...Hmmm. Ya think the Prophets knew what they were talking about when they said that when we're serving others, we're serving God? I would think so. I love you all and I'm so blessed to have you as a part of my life and as a part of my Mission experience. Have an excellent week, and stay safe, remember the Lord, Jesus Christ, and His suffereing for us. Until next week, do what you do!
