Happy Thanksgiving

Hey Everyone!

Holy Cow - it's been another week! Come and gone just like that! Crazy...Well I guess to begin I can start by saying HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I honestly cannot believe it has already been a year since I drove home from school, walked in the door and remembering just how happy I was to see you guys because it had felt like FOREVER! There's no way that's already been a year...no way! We had our own little Thanksgiving feast as a Mission here today. It was so good! Probably THE MOST AMERICAN FOOD I've had since I've been in Hong Kong! We had all the basic Thanksgiving foods! It was incredible! Finally a meal without rice or noodles! Haha! This is one of the very few times we got to gather together as an entire Mission. Usually when we have big activities, we're split up with other Zones but not this time! Oh man, it was so sweet to see everyone and especially all the guys from my MTC District! They're all doing so well and we're all still as tight as ever! I can't wait to meet up with them after the Mission! It's going to be so different though! I'm excited! The only thing that was missing today was the football and the WAY long naps! But, it's all good, because Missionary Work beats it all anyways! Doesn't it, Dad? This past week has been pretty awesome! We've tried our hardest to continue to work to find new investigators and it's starting to pay off. We're already getting a few member referrals from it! One kid I stopped the other day was GOLDEN! He said he would love to learn more and that he felt like this is what he's been looking for...he's only 18! He talked to his parents about it, and they don't want him to meet with us because they are Buddhist and really don't like the Mormons, but we don't give up that easily! We're going to be playing ball with him on Saturday and try and get through to him that way. I'm pretty excited about this kid and how he'll react to this unique message we have to share with the world. The lady we contacted last week out on the promenade met with us again, brought her sister this time and at the end of the lesson, told us she is leaving for Taiwan the next day and can't continue meeting with us. She was SOO relieved when we told her she and her sister could find Missionaries there! Elder Oliver and I didn't hesitate for a second on what our purpose was for her. When the lesson was finished, we both immediately said she needed to meet us first and then meet Missionaries in Taiwan, from where her entire family is from. I'm so excited and anxious for her to receive the Gospel. It will change her life beyond description! We also have a few other investigators in the making right now, but I'll keep you all updated on them as they begin to progress and be introduced to this Restored Gospel. It is so much fun living with Elder Reeser! Oh man, Mom, I remember so clearly you telling me about him before I left and how funny it would be if I met him here!...Now I'm living with him! He is so hilarious it's crazy! We talk about BYU Idaho all the time and just good memories we each had from going there. (Don't worry Steve and Cathy and everyone else...it's not totally set in stone yet!) Being with Elder Reeser is pretty sweet but it made me realize how much I enjoyed having Elder Loong around. Seeing him today was way sweet and something I very much enjoyed. He is such an incredible Missionary it's not even funny! What an example he's been to me in Missionary work and life. You guys need to contact his family and when you go down to Utah sometime in the near future, DEFINITELY meet up with them! He actually is going home this upcoming February, so pretty soon! I'm serious, you guys really have got to get in contact with them and maybe meet Elder Loong when he comes back! Things back home are sounding pretty cold and snowy! 6.5 hours to get home from work, Dad! WHAT?! That's funny that you mention football because myself along with a few other Elders in the Mission that followed it pretty closely before we left were talking about that exact same thing this morning and this afternoon! It sure sounds like you guys are about ready to tear it up in the Mission Field there! Keep it up and just know, we're both doing the same thing and for the same cause! How cool is that! As for my camera, it's the cord that I don't have...I have the charger thing but no cord to put in the camera or wherever it goes. So yeah...I'm not too sure what to do with it. Oh and another thing I forgot to mention was maybe you guys could look around and try and send the "Work and the Glory" Series, as well as "The Other Side of Heaven" because we're able to watch those but I don't have either. Maybe you guys would be able to hunt some down.! Thanks guys! I love you! This Thanksgiving, I am SOOO INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL FOR MY FAMILY!!! WOW!!! Dad, Mom, and Steph...I don't even know where to begin with you guys...I can tell you right now, if it wasn't for each one of you individually, I would not be here right now. Seriously! Each one of you had a special influence on me serving the Lord, and molding me into a better servant of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm not kidding, you guys have changed my life in so many ways, I can't even begin to think, yet alone describe my gratitude and thanks for you all, my heart is full! I can't believe I'm speaking CHINESE! It's insane! Definitely not me, it's all Heavenly Father, for sure. I love you and I am forever and ever grateful for you all! Until next week...Do what you do!
Love Always-
Elder Carey
